Unless it’s him playing accompaniment to some tween with a high pitched voice singing Die Fledermaus, I am most likely going to like it. I really dig the vibes and Milt Jackson is one of my favs.
Coming back to this group after some time.
Excerpt from the All music review: “ The seven tracks on Revisité are “remixes” of tunes that Erik Truffaz, the adventurous French trumpeter, previously explored with his jazz quartet. In a bid to crosspollinate jazz with new sounds being explored in ambient and electronica, Truffaz enlists the talents of six guest artists to reinterpret his work through their own experimental points of view.”
I have everything of him (vinyl or digital, what was available). So good…especially Bending new Corners, The Mask and The Dawn.
For a second I thought there was something wrong with my system He uses unusual sounds!
His other albums are worth listening to especially the ones @jazznut mentioned…
Thank you.I will check them. Musicians do once in while get out of their way to broaden their audience base.
Friendly Fire, from Erik Truffaz’ bending new corners. A fun listen. Followed up with the closer from the same album, And. Fun with what Erik has done with the electronics.
One of the better ECM albums during the last months imo. I think I’ll buy this as LP, too, which I rarely do meanwhile with ECM albums, only when music and sound quality match for me. I also like this cover in large.
Nice album.
Keith Jarrett’s Changeless, the playing is beyond description, and the sound for 1987 ecm digital is very good.
Thanks! Will check it out.
