Nice! Just released.
Re-playing this very good sounding disc, in part because I like Spalding’s involvement and in part because Harrell’s trumpet sound always reminds me of that of my best friend in Texas, Dave Laczko, a fine trumpeter and human being.

Jackie McLean’s ’bout Soul, clearly not soul-jazz, more along the lines of avant-garde of the mid '60s. A rather strong example from Jackie and friends, Also, a rather rare release.
New Acoustic Swing Duo featuring Han Bennink and Willem Breuker, recently reissued on Corbett vs. Demsey.
Based on your recommendation and the line-up this is one I need to track down.
Pretty cool album. May be rare on LP, don’t know, but I have had three different cd versions over the years and kept the most recent.
Indeed, a very cool album. Finding a reasonably priced clean LP of it these days will be expensive. For those that stream it is available on Tidal, and worth a listen.

This volume in the series is great–all either Commodore Records sides (I have all three of the Mosaic Records LP sets) or V-DISCS and every performance features Pee Wee Russell as a band member, and that’s a great thing, plus lots of ERNIE CACERES!
That’s an old one!
Enjoying it presently! Streaming on Qobuz.

Alexis Cole ~ A kiss in the Dark
Love this album but something odd about the recording. Volume is very low with the vocals way in the background. BTW: this is a digital copy (Chesky, DSD128) playing through Roon. Wonder if a vinyl copy would sound different?
Like many Chesky recordings it is binaural, recorded with a dummy head and therefore best heard on headphones.
