Thanks for pointing that out. Might have to get it. I heard her and half the Seed Ensemble (the other half of the band was The Ezra Collective) about 3 years ago. Great gig. She was magic.

A beautiful album dedicated to lesser played Jobim compositions, a trio of nylon string guitar, contrabass violin and flute. Perfect for my mood this morning.

Legendary :+1:t2:

A great collection of standards by Holiday, Fitzgerald, Armstrong, Prysock and others.

Didn’t know this quartet recording (drums+percussion!) so far. His best newer album imo with very good versions of those famous tracks.

“The Complete Capitol Live Recordings of George Shearing” Mosaic Records cd 1

Great sound on this box set (mastered by Malcolm Addey)–the Capitol recordings of this era almost always sound excellent. Nice breezy feel to the music.

EABS “Discipline of Sun Ra” cd

Well, it’s mastered hotter than I’d like a cd to be. That said it’s a very interesting listen, an updated Sun Ra sound, recorded with a smoothness one could wish some of the Sun Ra recordings were.

I don’t usually get into what a friend of mine calls “Ra-souleum” material, but I’ll be returning to this one. A good recording to test tube rectifiers with!

“The Complete Pacific Jazz Recordings of the Chet Baker Quartet with Russ Freeman” Disc 1

I forget sometimes how intriguing Russ Freeman’s piano playing was at this time.
