You do run up my monthly music bill. (Thank you)

Sorry about that. I know the feeling well! My wife hands me the visa bill at the end of the month and tells me to pay it because the vast bulk of it is LPs and Digital Discs. Fortunately I have a very good private pension to ‘feed my habit’…

Most impressive, the WHOLE BOX! I was tickled when I picked up my copy, and essential Coltrane box set IME.

Dirk, I so much want this one, but storage space is significantly challenged, Good, and if so how good?

That’s a nice BandCamp download.

A follow-up listen to Sonny Rollins Saxophone Colossus, Newk’s Time. A new addition to supplement a circa 1970’s LP.

I just stumbled into this February 8 release announcement for Alice Coltrane 1971 the Carnegie Hall Concert.

Alice Coltrane the Carnegie Hall Concert

Alice Coltrane Shiva-Loka (Live)

5 LP Box Set. Silent pressings - zero extraneous noise. 24-page LP-sized book featuring several essays and beautiful photographs. Expensive …but I have no regrets.
Being honest, I never like being asked to deliver a testimonial - because what I like, others may shake their heads in disbelief…!

A 1961 Moodsville recording recently reissued on the Craft Recordings label, Yusef Lateef Eastern Sounds, featuring Barry Harris, Ernie Farrow, and Lex Humphries. A rather laidback performance featuring eastern influenced modes, hence the title.

Dirk, I appreciate your opinion, and our tastes overlap significantly. I’ve been a fan of Sam Rivers for ages it seems, so the box set is a natural. I t is nice to have someone who values Sam Rivers’ music as well to weigh in. Thanks.
