A nice follow-up to Roy Brooks & The Artistic Truth. I picked this LP up at Chicago’s Jazz Record Mart when originally released in 1978, Chico Freeman Kings of Mali. Kings of Mali features a killer line-up of up caming players: Jay Hoggard - vibes, Anthony Davis - piano, with a solid rhythm section: Cecil McBee - double bass and Famoudou Don Moye percussion.
