We just posted new software for the Jr. Try downloading the latest on the site and see if that works for you.
@Paul
Does the new software have any fixes in it. Or, is it to make installing it more reliable?
Hello, Thank you for your reply.
The latest version of the software behaves exactly like the previous version: impossible to switch from WINDOM to SUNLIGTH.
The blue PS AUDIO logo is flashing, but no update âŠ
Thank you.
Arry.
Bonjour,
merci de votre réponse.
La derniÚre version du logiciel se comporte exactement comme la version précédente : impossible de passer de WINDOM à SUNLIGTH.
Le logo bleu de PS AUDIO clignote, mais pas de mise Ă jourâŠ
Merci.
Arry.
Hello to you,
The USB key is well formatted in FAT32, and I even tried in ExFAT and OS MAC âŠ
The files are identical to the ones you indicate, and I unzipped with WINRAR on Windows, and THE UNARCHIVER on MAC: to no avail.
A test with the last version of the software put in download by PS AUDIO (on May 4th), does not give convincing results either.
Itâs a real puzzle âŠ
Thank you so much. Arry.
Merci beaucoup.
Arry.
May be consider loading Sunlight using an SD card and see what happens âŠ
I believe that the SD card cannot be > 32Gb.
Hey Arry,
I had similar issues where I had tried about 6 different usb drives and previous versions etc.
What I think finally worked for me was to disconnect Ethernet cable and switch off the amp connected to my Dsj. Keep the Dsj switched off for about 5 minutes or moreâŠ. Then insert the usb and switch onâŠâŠ
I reloaded windom first and then sunlightâŠ
Not sure if it will helpâŠ. But may be worth a shot
Good luck
I had to install Yale first, reboot DSDjr, install Sunlight. The only thing I had connected was power.
Arry, in computing it happens from time to time that a USB or ethernet port does not work as it should due to the electrical load. Often the best solution is to perform an electrical reset. So as marcjones suggests, electrically stop the Directstream then disconnect the power cable for a long time. Then go to the installation step. If not, can you tell me where you bought your directstream because I need to buy a bridge and I cannot find any seller in France and the Alteraudio distributor does not respond?
Puis passer a lâĂ©tape dâinstallation. Sinon pouvez vous me dire ou vous avez achetĂ© votre directstream car jâai besoin dâacheter un pont et je ne trouve aucun vendeur en france et et le distributeur Alteraudio ne rĂ©pond pas ?
Firmware Archive⊠is the display of the old DS code on the archive web page in order of history? Newest to oldest? I want to compare sound of past versions to the newest Sunlight.
I guess I am in the minority in this world⊠I want to see version numbering. This âfunâ naming of releases is not appealing to me. (I am an old IT guy from the days of data processing.)
Oh, and in the few updates since my ownership, I have been happy with every release. Amazed actually. This Sunlight is proving a bit problematic in my system⊠I did listen for a few hours last night on my Focal Clear headphones and was very pleased⊠over my Focal speakers with Berylium tweeters⊠ummm ⊠not so sure. Something not right in the way upper register.
Focal speakers have a forward presentation⊠maybe this is the issue⊠their Clear headphones are more laid back.
Peace

Peace

Tested and Oppomod card works.
I just emailed you some files.
Congratulations. Yes it does sound like a while new machine!
Hi Elk,
thanks for writing.
I understood from what you are saying I have to live with the existing inconveniences, if I want to enjoy the impressing sonic improvements of Sunlight, because they are minor bugs in the eyes of PS Audio.
-
The pops caused by operating (pushing buttons) on the DSM, which another customer did report too, are as well heard in my system.
-
When streaming from Audirvana on a MacBook within my home net (LAN) to the DSD Bridge with Sunlight I had to low down the buffer in Audirvana to avoid from stopping playback (gapless playback problem of the bridge?) out of a sudden. Is there any relation you could imagine from the technical point of view?

A third one (imo important) issue occures after updating the DSJunior DAC with Sunlight. The AUTO switch function of the DSJ doesnât work anymore correctly. This would be a real inconvenient limitation, if we would have to live with this limitation for the rest live time of the device. Can You please consider this in an update for the DSJunior. (For this one Ted already sent a wonky work around)
I do not know anything specific about the issues you are describing. Your post to which responded asked only âCan we expect another update?â I opined there will be no update to Sunlight unless a major bug is found.
If what you are reporting turns out to be major bugs experienced by a significant amount of people there may be another update. I do not know.
Understood, Thanks!
Thanks a billion. It will help a lot to return to Windom as long as the tech. issues of the imo clearly better sonic properties of Sunlight havenât been solved.
I think, even if the enthusiasm of success by impressing sonic improvement of Sunlight is overwhelming, one need to care for a comprehensive functional testing additionally before rolling out to public in order to prevent customers from disappointment.
Can we expect a Sunlight update? What do you think?
Do you mind emailing me a list of the technical issues youâre having and I can have the team look into them? jamesh@psaudio.com
Hi jamesh, thanks for requesting the issues. I just wanted to add, that those issues are not just issues only I have.
Here we are:

When streaming from Audirvana on a MacBook within my home net (LAN) to the DSD Bridge with Sunlight on the DAC, I had to low down the buffer in Audirvana to avoid from stopping playback (gapless playback problem of the bridge?) out of a sudden. This is not necessary with Windom on the DSD, even the bridge does have other problems with gapless playback.
