I think my brother had one of those as well, but didn’t hang on to it for too long.
That’s what I hear. I have yet to try my 224. I also had a 224x at one point about 10 years ago when I bought a Teac A-3300SX, but the deck had so many issues, I sold it along with the 224x. I had the 224 in the closet and totally forgot about it which explains why I never sold it. LOL
Once I get everything set up and have some blank tapes to play with, I’m going to try the dbx. The Yamaha deck has dbx NR built into it as well.
I still have the dbx DriveRack Venue 360 that I was using for active crossover duty on a pair of Martin Logan SL3’s and some DIY projects. It was dead silent and added nothing of its own to the sound.
I’m afraid to sell it in fear that if and when I do, I’ll magically need it again for some up and coming project. LOL
