You really lucked out on the width of the kitchen island! Very nice.

Cheers.

PS, What color choice did you select? Thinking of grabbing two of these for the front wall, which is currently untreated. I want to focus on diffusion up there though; so I hope these would be appropriate for the job.

Rather laid this:

Called the dealer and was told they have been using the same with their demo P10 with great results!

Hi All
What I have noticed is a lot of fellow Audiofreaks have cats as pets.
Do you not worry about cat fur getting into equipment or felines using
equipment racks as cat tree? I used to have a cat that loved to chew
up all the wires coming out of little wall adaptors, became expensive to
replace them. I think my cat was crazy.

My cats, when they were kittens over 10 years ago climbed Thiel CS3.6 speakers just like cat tower and scratched all over, dented a tweeter diaphragm. Now they are sound even better.
They are 15 years old and not active anymore. One of them love to sleep on my lap while I’m listening. That’s a problem when I listen vinyl. I have to stand up every 20-25 min to flip/swap the vinyl. He doesn’t like it.

No surprise, thanks for sharing you observations. Seems Rega got it right.

As a child and as a teen boy I used to like cats because someone else paid for the damage, not anymore. Upon settling late 2021, I am planning on having a dog from a smart breed. Rhodesian Ridgeback is a good candidate. These need regular exercise, so I’d be forced to become more active.

a cat contributed significantly to the destruction of my Richard Allen Pavanes. i have another pair of Pavanes now, and no cat.
strangely, i miss the cat

My cat has never bothered any of my equipment or furniture. My WE-1s are clothed covered all the way around the speakers, 32x52x12, that’s a lot of material to scratch on. She doesn’t do regular cat stuff like jump in boxes and such, she ignores most things. I came to the conclusion she isn’t right or just plain lazy!.

Cats were in my home several years ago because my wife loves them. One of them had his paw day on the sock of an original Von Schweickert VR4 and made a real mess of them. Got a replacement from the factory and I remember that installing it was not easy…

You should be happy. You have a well behaved civil kitty.

We have two cats and they are mostly well-behaved. They each have a dedicated scratching post/perch thing where they take out all their scratching/claw work. My speakers also do not have the front woofer grills installed both for improved looks (sound?) and to eliminate this as a temptation. Years ago I had Acoustat Spectra-22 speakers and boy did our cat at the time love to use those as scratching posts. It got bad enough I had to replace both “socks” on the speakers. Lesson learned.

I have cats and bunnies. Bunnies love to chew on cables. The more expensive the cable the more they like to chew. But how do they know??!!
