System Photos!

If you’re going to have speakers in your office, best get a decent pair. My dealer told me it was fun getting these in the elevator. With speakers like these in the office, you wonder any work gets done.

The office is in a building known as The Cheesegrater, for obvious reasons.

That sounds as if, with the departure of the last of your Harbeths, you have abandoned the simple pleasures of the mid-range!

I have retired and new young savages come by from time to time and we fly and develop …My office is the world.

Thanks. Yes, I used LED adhesive strip lights. They’re applied to the underside of the tops of the boxes, right behind a little valance that blocks them from view (and keeps us from getting light directly in the eyes). Then, to maximize their illumination, the backside of that little valance strip is covered with reflective mylar tape so as much light as possible is bounced back into the boxes. You can see that even with three different transformers, I got some voltage drop by the end of the wiring runs.

All I can say is just WOW! BTW, what’s the figure sitting over the right entrance?

I know it’s cheesy but I find it cute. My PS Audio display.

That’s our little surprise for new guests. We met an artist from Florida who makes little human figures out of fiberglass and automotive paint. Most of them are in various rappelling poses, and we have 6 or 7 of those on a big blank wall in our entry, hanging from steel cables, but this guy is seated, and we keep him in the living room to see who notices him.

Alright Watchdog, what is the center component? The whole setup looks great.

It’s a California Audio Technology CAT 600.2 MBX amp that I have as a backup. It can use dual 240/120 AC Inputs. It detects and switches the power supply to match the input AC. 600w into 8ohm 1200W into 4 Ohm and so on.

The dealer KJ is the leading UK Harbeth retailer, sold their products since the 1970s and host product launches. Went to the M40.2 launch there. I’ve heard my Harbeth system in the same demo room as I heard the Wilson’s. The change was as much cosmetic and in that regard has been a massive success. The overall tone of these little Wilson is very similar to Harbeth compared to the Focal and Magico I heard, which were very different. The Wilson just do quite a lot more. The odds on impressing my 20 year old were diminished by the fact that we were interfering with his study of the Premier League, he decided they were igloos as opposed to coffins, then decided against his better judgement that he liked the look of them and was blasting some hip hop before I even got to use them. We also agreed on bathroom tiles today, so what with the cricket a good day all round.

Yeah, did notice the differences in illumination, but the effect is nice. Well done. :+1:

Simply beautiful. What vintage and model are the speakers?

They’re Wilson Audio Watt/Puppies 5.1’s

I’m the second owner and they’re all original. I’ve ordered the latest Wilson tweeters and I’ve been patiently waiting 10 months. Apparently COVID has badly affected their supplier. Fortunately my tweeters are fine I was just looking for the new ones. If my speakers were down I would have been upset over the wait.

Very nice. I don’t know anything about the Wilson lineup but they all appear to be the highest quality possible.

It looks awesome! No cheese at all. I’ll bet this is a great sounding system.

Thank you Paul. Yes, it’s sounding very good.

This is Dark Titanium. We love the colour. Paul would hate the bass, or lack of it!

Imaging is suffering due to a large cabinet between the speakers, but in a few months hopefully they will be in anther room standing in completely free space. The hifi will be hidden in a corner.

Nice aesthetic… Clean lines and works with the rest of the vibe in the room…

Enjoy.
