yeah - didn’t buy them for how they look, or would’ve waited for the blue to be available in the Meta. I don’t look at gear a lot. Actually, I guess I should say that I see gear all day long, one way or another, so I don’t sit around admiring it. Otherwise I’d have paid extra for black in these possibly-ugliest-color-ever PSI’s.
Got a new desk for my studio, and it has integrated, solid steel IsoAcoustics on rails. Pretty cool. You can get additional sets and mount multiple monitors.
If they come out with a Blade 2 Meta, I’m in trouble. Was never impressed with the old version at shows. These, I can listen to all day. Preferably with sub(s) as with P3’s.
I have had three different friends purchase the Kef LS50 set up (active version). Two of them were woman. I believe they are a great way to introduce folks to an audiophile experience with a main stream convenience and form factor.
My daughter lives in Costa Rica, I’ve convinced her to buy a pair. White with white stands in her fancy place on the west coast…open balcony. She will love them!!
No idea about the actives vs. the passives, as in some ways they are different deals, but based on a fair amount of recent experience with putting the passive Metas on various amps, I wouldn’t want to limit myself to internal class D (or whatever they are) amps.
That’s cool. Back in day I had a Roland SH1000 (same like the one Steve Miller used on Swingtown). Also had a little Yamaha DX100 which was fun and a cheap intro into FM Synthesis (big in the 80’s remember - ugh!).
I haven’t played in so long. Last year when I met Gus, he was going to let me try out his Behringer rig since the Modular Moog wasn’t up and running. I was shy and embarrassed and didn’t take him up on his offer. What a nice man !
