I had some time to bring the KLH’s down to the dungeon, and I’m surprised to say I think I like the Harbeth 30’s down there better. Would be interesting to try some KLH Model 3’s, which are smaller, and about the same size as the 30’s. But what am I chasing?
Haven’t stopped thinking about those Buchardt’s tho. Might keep a used-equipment search alive for a pair of S400 signatures.

I’ve got some Buchardt S300’s, they’re incredible speakers for the money, although I would expect the KLH to be around the same in performance terms.
The signature options are just mind bogglingly beautiful.

My pair are B stock, they are returned units that have either just been returned as not suitable, or for failures in shipping which are fully repaired.
Mine were as new, there was absolutely nothing to suggest they’d even been opened.
You still get full warranty with B stock, although if they’re not suitable, I believe you have to pay return shipping if you decided to return, whereas that’s covered if it’s normal stocks.
