The brick work is really cool looking. It took some artistic license to make it work so good.
I think the brick layer was seriously on the turps when he strung up his string line to lay those bricks above the fireplace.
Rumor has it that the woman who built the cabin in 1962 was the one with the cocktail in her hand. She’d tell the bricklayer where to put each brick.
That fireplace may or may not have been the last thing he ever built.

Cabling not messy enough for my liking 
@donkt150 - I use VISIO for laying out the cabling and rack. It gives me a nice scaled plan and then when I reconfigure it just needs minor tweaks. I will be reconfiguring my rack next week so I have laid it out this week. The pic below is what it is right now. Very sloppy so my next reconfiguration will be much better. In addition I use the package to understand cable bend radius so I have proper bends on the Iconoclast cables.
I will have to try that program, the messy cabling has been bothering me for almost 50 years. thank you I will give that a try I would imagine that would consist of purchasing different cable lengths .
@donkt150 - yes, the reason I have started a Block Diagram w/ rack view (from rear) and cable layout. My latest Block Diagram (zoom-able); 25th since May, 2018. I like it cause you can instantly articulate 2channel strategy and ideas for bettering the system.
In addition, I have a room diagram (scaled) so I can strategize on room treatment.
This is great information , much better than measuring with a ruler and purchasing a cable and to find it’s just not quite fitting the way you want.
@donkt150 - exactly, remember, this is a full contact sport… 
I like it because I will go through at least 50 thought experiments as to a better set up and I can use the modeling software to realize abstract ideas. The difference between the modeling and reality is very, very close. The reason I scale everything. I will bring a picture into VISIO and scale it based on the manufacturers specs. I even calculate the weight of each device to make sure the correct selection of Isoacoustic pucks are correct. Like when I set up the top and 2nd shelf plinths. I have no life and friends so I have a lot of time on my hands to play with my 2channel hobby…
My first Block Diagram a year ago… my initial 2channel…
I have the opposite problem , as I get older I get les and less time.so my system gets attention every now and then I like to use my spare time if I get any for listening to music but ,the program I can actually start working on and save it and continue to complete it and hopefully one day have it all neat.
Over the years I’ve purchased things put them in the rack hook them up hoping one day I can get to neatening it all up
As for the time thing, got to go pick up my grandson from preschool I’ll jump back in later thanks for all your help

Hi I should have been more carful of the word budget. I have a back story for saying that and I should have not. Please forgive my choice of word. I am very thankful for what I have. I am not supposed to be alive they gave me a 1% chance of surviving but here I am .
