Theoretica Applied Physics BACCH

,

When I think of this hobby, I envision a never-ending rabbit hole, but one I want to jump in nonetheless. Add BAACH, and that is all-together another stretch, more of a cosmic void.
When you step from the things that process information (your system) to addressing the way
your brain does (BAACH), that may be a leap that this old head and dwindling wallet can not make.
Al’s traveling BAACH-Orama will probably dampen my fears. Just add gear and money.

Well said. I keep scratching my head when to invest more. A Bacch session seems to alleviate my desire to spend on stereo. The over treatment of the room and killing the live cues regular stereo needs takes a Bacch session even farther. Sometimes I miss the bass that ORC took away for the perfect curves, but listening to some HT gives me that fix.

Does anybody have information regarding Edgar’s new plug-in for BACCH that turns two stereo speakers into a 12 speaker home theater?

We believe it’s called Stratosonic?

We’ve been patiently waiting for its release, we reached out to Edgar and were told we’ll be contacted soon.

It is a small box, that come with a pair of desktop speakers and a good sized subwoofer. It would normally come with a Bacch4Mac setup as well. The box has the amplifier and DAC for the 3 speaker system. Price with all that is needed in the $20K vicinity. If you already have a Bacch4Mac the price drops to around $14K. Sitting 2 feet away from the left and right speaker, watching 7.1 demos, it did an extraordinary good job of delivering multi-channel sound. It was amazing.

Oops

Al,

We believe you’re referring to;
https://www.theoretica.us/bacch-DrC2/

We are under the impression what we’re referring to is a new plug-in for BACCH4MAC specifically designed for home theater type sound from two speakers.

We aren’t sure about any of this, just fishing for information.

Thank you,
Steve

I was talking about what you linked to. I know nothing at all about what you believe is coming.

Yes, can confirm project name and background, but not the arrival timing. Last December, Edgar was looking for Mac-based tools to extract TrueHD Dolby ATMOS MLP files from MKV files so as… my words… to put immersive surround sound through two speakers. Such extraction tools are more available for Windows. But he was on a MacBook M2, at least during the holidays. He said this would be coming.

Thank you!

This what Edgar was doing demos with at axpona tho he never mentioned the name “Stratosonic” Edgar was using Dolby MKV demo clips. He was primarily showing the new speakers and subwoofer and it was 100% surround like with the 2 speakers as long as you sat near field in the sweet spot.

I played around with the B4M webcam. I can’t say if it changed anything with the audio presentation. I like what I heard what I didn’t like is it was very distracting during initial setup making sure the camera was tracking etc…
The worst part was seeing the overweight, gray hair balding guy on the chair listening to music and realizing the audiophile guy everyone is stereotyping is me!!! :man_facepalming:t2::confounded_face::confounded_face::confounded_face::cry::cry:

More of us can relate than are willing to admit😊

The primary purpose of the webcam image is to remind me not to slouch, sprawl, slump etc

It worked well in my dark room with the B4M. It is useless with my adio. It is no longer used.

A long time ago B4M users told me to buy an infrared camera and light source. Then I found out it would not work with my adio as it was too outdated. I since had it updated to current standards. But damn, I can’t find those two items to save my life.

To me the head tracking function is similar to turning rings on cables. Not worth the time and effort to go through the process.

I sit pretty still when I listen. My feet are always moving and I am always gesturing with my arms and hands. But my head stays in one place.

WHO you calling gray!!! well yeah the other two are right.

I keep mine on at all times. If you use two chairs or a couch it will easily follow your head. Sometimes with two people on couch side by side it will hunt between listeners or you can steal tracking from the other person by leaning over.

99% of the time it’s just me. So no issues there. The sound without the camera and the Al filter is still superior to anything I’ve created so no webcam seems more than fine!
