Made the right choice between B4M or new subs for sure.

Yes, had taken it out and left it on sofa, wife ‘hid’ it from me when cleaning up! She’s the more organized one so should have asked her right away…
I’d be willing to bet that Edgar has never told anybody that their subs are set too low. No pun intended. Congrats on the Bacch!
Thanks - he asked ‘how are you feeling about getting started’ and I honestly told him anxious but excited. Still an intimidating piece of software, but truly an amazing and immediate improvement. He was right about some 80s and 90s pop recordings tho, not as much improvement as some recordings from different eras that caught ‘space’ and ‘soundstage’ so well - especially symphonies.
It works great with classical. I recommend looking thru What are you listening to Bacch edition to find some great tracks for Bacch. The Leonard Kottke version of Sweet Emotion is one of my favorites to demonstrate Bacch processing. Try with and without Bacch it’s pretty shocking how much bigger the soundstage gets!
will def do that… seems B4M does exactly what Edgar said, not adding anything, but removing what gets in the way of presentation.

Just saw an ad for Martina4Bacch…basically the system Aangen describes (has bought?) - SP with Janzen speakers. Didn’t show any cables. Wonder if it’s wireless. The ad is in the last few pages of the latest absolute sound.

I recently switched to AEquo Audio Stilla active speakers from my Apogee Divas after you mentioned the Edgar modified active Jenzsen Valentina speakers made for BACCH. The AEquo Audio Stilla active speakers work very well with BACCH4Mac. I posted more about my change in the Your Next Upgrade? (Part 3) thread. I wanted to thank you for bringing up active speakers. I hope the Martina4BACCH speakers work for you!
Anyone on here have FR10s or 20s with B4M? Wondering if a good combo or not. Have been thinking of the FR10s for my new smaller listening space but unsure… have 2 REL S/510s will be keeping as well.
After few days and listening sessions with new B4M (Audiophile + ORC) installed, I am having to play misic at higher volume levels to truly hear the B4M - has anyone else experienced this? Lower levels simply seem a bit far away.
That most likley is ORC giving you a more flat response. You are used to hearing peaks, ORC has lowered them. Louder vol setting yes, but flatter across so you are not getting blasted by the peaks.
Just my thought on this.
Is pretty normal with DSP room correction systems to have a 3dB drop for headroom management to avoid digital clipping. That is why it is good to have a volume dial to eleven!
That sounds spot on actually and makes perfect sense. Just wish I gotten B4M when I had my own room for listening… wife’s face every time she surprises me upon entering the room says “pls, turn it down!” Maybe I should try to convince her that downsizing wasn’t the right move after I convinced it was absolutely the right move. Sometimes think she wishes my family had the same return policy on me as PS Audio does on their equipment.
Exactly! And why I am wondering if a pair of new SS PMG monoblocks are in my future!
Thats my biggest scare of downsizing. I love having my own space.
