Legos will coordinate with your amp. lol Pardon, I could not resist.
I went to Target and bought this:
Sadly, it was inexpensive.
Using the IR Cam and the auxiliary IR light source with the cam less than a meter from me. No luck at all
Lights out, lights on, sober, drunk, no change.
I need Edgar I guess.
I have a bunch of these phone/ camera mini tripods if youâd need them. I used them as cable elevators for a time.
I tried everything I could with the IR cam. I put my face one foot away from it. It was not found.
I liked me better when I wasnât interested in Head tracking.
Edgar can login anytime he has a minute to check it out. Hopefully he can discover the issue that I canât.
Update: I finally got head tracking to work with all the normal lights on in the room and using the IR Cam as a webcam. Reclining is right out, wearing glasses throws it off a bit. Edgar sent me a text saying he will contact me soon. Amusing.
I used the streaming function as directed. I am not fun to look at. Sigh. Thanks guys!!
The mini tripod looks great for your situation. All I have on my front wall are the speakers and monoblocks so I needed the additional tripod extension to get the camera at eye-height. The IR range is regrettably not as long as Iâd like (even with the illuminator); however, Iâm getting good tracking now with about 6â from listening position to the camera (I had to bring the camera/tripod about a foot closer than originally planned).
If your camera isnât seeing you at 1 foot, something is obviously amiss. Iâm not familiar with the UI on the SP as opposed to BACCH4Mac but in the latter case, I had to move the âhead targetâ dot in the BAACHdsp app to specify what was to be tracked. From there I could crop to a reasonable image size. With the IR camera having more of a fish eye lens, the previous (non-IR) webcam settings were no longer optimal.
Edgar did point out that eyeglasses, bald heads, shiny foreheads, etc. can all present challenges to the camera. Fortunately, blood-alcohol levels are a non-factor once everything is initially setup. Having him get in touch with you is always the best option (and you can ask him about the next-gen SP line unveiled at Munichđ)
Cameras donât see apparitions or vampires
âŚor other mythical creatures.
On Bacch4mac camera doesnât work right as IR. You have to set it is webcam. That it what Edgar showed me.
The IR light I cannot seem to find a position that allows both sides of face to be illuminated with IR light. With lights on it tracks great at night. I may need to ceiling mount light in line with listening position the 14 feet to listening position is too far from lIR ight. I may need to Tripod mount camera. Mine is on a 1/8 inch threaded stud off a sorbothane isolator. For a camera base. I will try raising camera first. Then light to ceiling.
Al if you look anything like your Apex, I say that you are very good looking!
a big word
If, if, if you have ever seen the women latching on to him âŚ
Yes - itâs a bit misleading that you wouldnât select the âIRâ button for an IR camera. I believe the button only relates to supporting hardware configurations of some early adopters. He indicated the confusing button would likely be phased out in a future release.
The punchline from Edgar:
You are using the wrong camera! You must have been talking to a BACCH4Mac user. The camera you are describing does not work with the BACCH-SP. It is for BACCH4 Mac only.
Does the one included in the flight case do IR or only visible light camera head tracking. If it foes ZiR at least you can dtill use the light perhsps.
It seems there was no DSP-13 release for Adio either?
I have never plugged in the one mine came with as it requires room light. No DSP-13 release for the BACCH-SP.
I have to stop reading this thread. It is bad for me.
Appears you now have a reason to buy a bacch4mac for office or your lake house to use this 100 dollars of SP unusable gear. Or you can set up a home surveillance system elsewhere unless watching bunnies sneak in the dark to chew cables is of concern.
Might be time to finally risk your Man-Club membership and reach for the operating/owners manualâŚ
Might, I wrote might, mind you. No need to make rash decisions while under duress.
I am just suggesting that you MIGHT want to consider, eventually, taking a peek â just a peek, I say â at the manual.
MaybeâŚ
Good luck, Al.
SEE
I had the manual in my hands the whole time.
Thanks though.
Doh! I feel bad about passing on the misleading information. When the release email was sent, it never occurred to me that the SP would be on a different timeline than BACCH4Mac with a different software baseline. In retrospect, it makes sense.
Did Edgar indicate if an SP release supporting an IR camera was in the works?
Oops.
So sorryâŚ
