I no longer have SACDS or have any interest in same.
So why are you posting in a thread about SACDs?
There are a lot of SACDs out there that have the best available mastering of an album in a digital format. That alone should have any audiophile interested in SACDs. Also, SACDs are DSD64 which is better than Red Book. So you can get a better mastering in a higher quality format. I rip my SACDs and play them via Roon and HQPlayer. Awesome sounding!
Do you ever post in class D amp threads? Kind of a pot calling the kettle black thing here, speedy.
…or vinyl threads for that matter. We can just digress, I think.
I am not aware of any new SACDs. Like many, I have high hopes for the soon to be made available Diamond Dave Van Halen MFSLs on SACD. I check regularly, but they are still in “soon” status.
This is a thread discussing “Top SACDs”.
I love vinyl, have an interest, and still listen to it at friend’s houses…I just don’t have vinyl at my house anymore because any positives there are are outweighed, for me, by the cost and rituals required to get the best results. I think it is great that people listen to vinyl. I have nothing negative to say about that.
Class D amps? I am interested in Class D amps but am still waiting for technology that works for me. So far it does not…but I will keep listening either till it does or am I dead.
So, no pot calling the kettle black here…
There are new SACDs coming out all the time…
You aren’t reading carefully. You’ve got the wrong dude, dude.
Edit: speed-racer edited his mistake where he had me confused with another user. That makes this post really confusing. Whatever…think I’ll go enjoy the day outside.
Does anyone here have personal experience with the Esoteric SACD offerings in terms of value, sound quality, packaging, etc?
For example, there is this current offering over at Elusive Disc:
The listing for the Elgar offering boasts:
Limited Edition Hybrid SACD!
Featuring ESOTERIC’s Proprietary Re-Mastering Process to Achieve the Highest Level of Sound Quality!
Japanese Pressing, Deluxe Digi-pak Packaging, THE definitive Classical Performance on SACD!
I am also very interested to hear other’s opinions on Esoteric SACD. I don’t own one, (too expensive for me)
Music direct also carry Esoteric SACD
https://www.musicdirect.com/Search?query=Sacd#/Sacd/0/score/desc/?tab=products&manufacturer_na_str=Esoteric&format_na_str=SACD
I tried one of those Esoteric SACDs. Cost me $54 and it turns out it has dynamic compression.
I won’t be buying any more of them. I have a $7 budget CD of that Beethoven 6th performance that sounds considerably better.
Interesting…thanks for sharing.

I’m currently digging this release. I have her. other discs in MQA which although is a highly controversial format done very well in her releases.
I continue to look for great releases of great music, new and old.
Can anyone vouch for the recording quality of this MFSL release?:
Thank you in advance.

I can vouch for that Carly Simon SACD. And the No Secrets Mobile Fidelity sounds even better! One of their best sounding SACDs.
Thanks. I think I am going to order that one.
Cheers.
Ordered from the MOFSL site…
Looking forward to re-hearing some old, favorite tunes in a (hopefully) better “aural light”.
Thanks again.

My pleasure. Did you get both or just Anticipation?
Just her Sophomore effort, “Anticipation”.
Thriller looks tempting on MFSL, to say the least. I wonder how often I’d play it. It was pivotal for my age, but that doesn’t mean I sit around listening to Thriller everyday.
My early Japan for USA Thriller CD sounds incredible. I wish MFSL would focus on albums that actually need some improvement.
I have found some Mofi pressings on sacd worse than the original IMO. Bob Dylan Oh Mercy is an example that comes to mind.
