UPS feeding P15?

Hi All,

I experience bouncing to brown to complete utility outages frequently. I have a whole house generator, which takes ~5-20 seconds to kick in. If it’s a bouncing outage it cause the P15 to get in a hung state. The double click standby process works.

Anyone have thoughts on using a UPS in front of the P15 ?

Not a P15 but I use 3, older generation, P10s for my system. For a while there, I was seriously planning to build a new house. Sadly, I had to abandon the project but one of the things I was looking at was a battery and PV panel solution to power my house. I had it professionally spec’d based on a 20kWh daily usage profile as indicated by my power bills. The system was designed to only require auxilliary input from the utility grid for about 2 months of the year. The usage profile included having my audio system ‘always on’. I was counting on the battery/inverter to at least keep the P10 capacitors fully charged, despite any short, transient peak power demands that my 600W mono blocks placed on it. From what I’ve learnt about domestic inverters, they maybe wouldn’t have been a good match for directly powering the mono blocks.

Not specifically a UPS but I think it would’ve provided the same type of isolation from interruptions to power from the grid. It would’ve been an interesting experiment!
