Value of the Directstream 2 DAC

Merry Christmas to the PS Audio family.

Just curious….I bought a Directstream 2 DAC when they were first released.

Its an amazing DAC, but I’m contemplating buying an expensive integrated amp, and using the DAC inside the Integrated amp (Hegel H 600 ) that I’m interested in.

I realize its probably not on par with the DS 2 DAC, however it would be a huge step up in amplification for me.

My question: With the release of the PMG DAC, and the trade in offers on the DS 2.

What is the resale value of the DS 2 ? I realize its pretty subjective,but I’m trying to figure out what to list it for if I choose that route.

BTW- My unit is pristine with the original film on top and all the original packaging, remote and cord.

Any and all opinions will be appreciated.

You can always check hifishark. But last I saw 3k.

Surprisingly there are not many in Audiogon or Audio Mart for sale now. I remember I have seen the asking prices around $3.3k to 3.5k. With less used ones for sale now you should be able to sell it around these prices.

Mine has APS mod ($800+), and I may sell it soon to. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Brian…That’s kind of the range I thought.

The used market for these is absurd. It’s a legit 8K DAC.

To pick one of these up gently used for 3K ish is one of the best audio bargains ever.

I’ll keep mine.

Yeah unfortunately when ps audio set the trade in at 3k and now TMR selling for 3999 it’s rough.
