Viktoria Mullova Beethoven · Mendelssohn violin concertos : / John Eliot Gardiner / Philips SACD

I Like the performances but others might not. However the recording is of demonstration quality. Everything is exceptionally transparent. The orchestra parts are exceptionally full-bodied and dynamic. I won’t sell my Heifetz but this recording highly prized.

Thanks for the tip. I don’t really need another pairing of the Beethoven and Mendelssohn, but if it’s good, it’s probably worth adding to the stable. Fortunately I found a “like new” copy on eBay for $20. Amazon’s going rate was $70, and Presto doesn’t have it - just a redbook Decca of the same performances.
