WaveStream with no expiration Released.

Dennis Kerrisk said Source can be found at :

git clone ssh://dennis_k85@git.code.sf.net/p/wavestreamer/code wavestreamer-code

Thanks Dennis, however I think correct command should be without the credentials:

git clone http://git.code.sf.net/p/wavestreamer/code wavestreamer-code

It worked for me in this way.

Though I guess if we have some programmers here they would notice this and fix it for themselves :)

jazzbug said I'm not a beta tester, just wanna try Wavestream out, but the program doesn't run and always say its not compatible with windows....

Does it install ok?

Hi Dennis,

The Wavestream app I downloaded here doesn’t install at my windows 7 at all, anything you could help?

Installed this morning Win 8.1, got an error message:

“MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer”

Dennis, please help.

amiglic;

If you read this thread you will find that you are not the first/only one having this problem.

Either Dennis is working on this matter or it has been abandoned.

Frode,

I read this thread and I had a hope that Dennis will show up with a revised version.

If it had been abandoned - I think we all deserve a clear statement.

Thanks.

The is a way to work around this issue mentioned in an earlier post. Since I have to work on this on my own time, I have not had time to fix the issue. When I get a free moment, I will post an updated version. But lately I am so tired after work I can’t even look at a computer.

Sounds like Paul needs to get Dennis an assistant. He’s too valuable to let him burn out.

I feel like I’m walking in at the end of a movie.

What exactly is WaveStream? I did a Google search, and it took me right back to this thread! LOL

WaveStream is a virtual sound driver that plays to a uPnp rendering device.

Dennis

Thanks D!

Hi Dennis,

Any hope to get a working BETA Wavestream ??

Are you still on it ?

Thanks,

Amnon

It has been posted for several weeks. It has issues on 64 bit systems, but there is a post on how to circumvent that.

Dennis

stevem2 said Mine is also 64 bit. Windows 7 Home Premium.
First download and run http://sourceforge.net/projects/wavestreamer/files/Windows/vcredist_x64.exe/download

Then download and run http://sourceforge.net/projects/wavestreamer/files/Windows/WaveStreamInstall.exe/download

This will fix the missing dll issue.

Dennis

Thanks.

I downloaded and installed.

Still get the “missing DLL” error.

I use Windows Server 2012 R2.

Maybe it is not compatible with the OS ?

That was only a fix for windows7 64 bit. I’ll look into it when I have time.

Try this one at http://sourceforge.net/projects/wavestreamer/files/Windows/vcredist_x86.exe/download

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

The installation and operation of WS on windows 8.1 was perfect no errors and operating = playing music nicely

Excellent

Thanks

Johno

Didn’t work for me. Windows 7 Home Premium 64. On the first package I get a message that a newer version of C++ is already installed and won’t let me install again. After installing Wavestream, still get the missing file error. When running the second installer, the C++ installer comes back up and appears to run successfully but I have no idea what it is actually doing. Tried multiple times, uninstalling Wavestream each time.

Hi Dennis,

Tried the vcredistx86.

Didn’t work.

Maybe it is relevant, I have the PSAudio folder with Elyric in “Program Files” and the Wavestream, with vcredist_x64 (installed itself) in another PSAudio folder in “Program Files (x86)” folder.

Is it relevant ??

Thanks,

well it looks like WaveStreaqm has issues with Windows Server 2012 R2. I’ll look into it when I have time.
