Hey, your comment reminds me of many years ago, I was really serious (actually TOO serious) about wine tasting. I had to quit before my hobby ruined my life! I was a member of CompuServe’s Wine Forum, learning about all the right words to use to describe what I sniffed and tasted and after-tasted, about vintages and appellations and acidity and fruitiness and tannin… The best word I ever learned was “plonk” which denotes lousy wine - we could sure use a word that simple for bad recordings! I was learning, but I never felt in the same league as others on the Forum, so I would apologize for not being as eloquent. One day, someone said, "the difference between a wine drinker and a wine aficionado is that a drinker just enjoys, but an aficionado THINKS about WHY they enjoy it. That’s it. Just coming to this forum and reading stuff makes you an audiophile, not the fancy words you write. And don’t worry about trying to be eloquent or emotional or intellectual - just share what you will and we’re all grateful.
I think the worst word in a hobby is “should.”
