What are you listening to now (BACCH Edition)

FYI/ We are adding songs as we go

Very nice. I just subscribed!

Some of those songs are from Decware demos, Steve Deckert has eclectic taste in music, we like it!

Subscribed as well.

Very high Bacchness quotient on these - thanks!!

Wow! What an impressive collection of physical music media!! Al - how do you ever decide what to listen to? Do you have the ability to randomly pick from your collection?

Super powers indeed! The Marvel Cinematic Universe could be looking at its next member :joy:

I listen with things set to random all the time. A virtual radio station feature my music collection is my favorite. Things that happen when listening randomly usually amuse and delight me. I have been buying music since 1968

After listening to your playlist. Roon Radio is taking me on a 80’s Flashback tour for some reason. I don’t usually listen to this genre in Digital since it was always sounding too harsh since few companies knew how to optimize digital back then with the highs too hot.

Seems Bacch dSP solves this with XTC algorithms shaving off the too hot highs.

Here are a couple of good Bacch Roon Radio remedies.

In short, side two of this should grab your attention. The best way to arrive at side two is after listening to side one. Just listened with Bacch and lost my breath. Headphones now, non-Bacch version, it loses everything. I’ll have to try setting headphones up with the Bacch. Anyway:

This might be the most pleasant and amazing thing I have heard with the Bacch. It sounds real good in ordinary stereo. Same effects, just a lot less soul. I have this on vinyl. nothing can touch it. The CD is real nice, and I have heard streaming can work.

(I have three unopened copies of this on vinyl, and it’s an excellent, excellent pressing.)

This live album is extra special.

I had never tried walking from the sweet spot to the front of the listening room in a straight line but spatially the images remain constant and wide.

This is the new most BACCH track possible. Good grief!

The second track is absurd. Love it!

Weird sounding.

This is a live recording? Weirder still.

Not the hippest suggestion but Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” really shines with the BACCH setup!

Thanks Al - I appreciate your sharing suggestions from your Super Fun Music Collection :grinning:

Sorry couldn’t find the 2nd one (Micro) on Qobuz

These are all great selections here, and they sound splendid in my system too.

I am going to steal a chunk of the list into my love list without an admission ticket to BACCH!

Enjoy! Kudos to @Steve08226 for initiating and maintaining the playlist. Feel free to nominate any additions as it’s a “living list”. Better yet, if you have a Mac available (and $980), take up Theoretica on their risk-free BACCH4Mac-Intro package. The Intro package is software-only and near instant gratification (Theoretica will personally help you set it up shortly after ordering). It’s the BACCH gateway drug!
