Steve Stone sez Stuff

including about Gus

I haven’t talked to Gus in forever, but I have doubts about the statement at 2:15 given his involvement with building Animal Lane in Lyons with his buddies over the past few years.

It’s audio - but just listen to the first 5-6 minutes. Or the whole thing.

One of the coolest, most life affirming YouTubes I’ve seen all year:

(476) Duke offensive lineman Chance Lytle showing off his opera octave pipes - YouTube

Brought a smile to my face, and still does. Went viral on practically every social media platform on the planet. Way to go, Chance!

If you’re interested at all in how things are scored these days, this is fun. I haven’t watched the show, frankly - but the guy’s good. I also like that he uses Logic rather than ProTools.

A giant “library” on YouTube and excellent sound quality.

This is a fun VR. Best with a phone or tablet either standing or sitting in a chair that rotates. The first half looks at some parts in isolation with fun visualizations added, and the rest is a performance of the piece.

I had to expand the screen size to get it to show up.

Very fun.

I always find these amazing. And watching with listening brings out the complexity of the score.
