The Zipper 1994 Edition. A great Re-Issue series by BobLudwig. Great packaging and not plagued with loudness war problems. I went to a Computer drop off place and they gave me $40.00CDN in 1994 for a PC that didn’t work ! Went to HMV and bought this and Exile…LOL !
New on Qobuz. HR. 50 years ago I was very fond of Beethoven, but the years have taken their toll and I seldom listen to his music nowadays. I thought this album might rectify the situation. It s extremely well played and the sound quality is good. It sounds very ‘Beethovenish’. Unfortunately I was substantially unmoved, and towards the end was just waiting for it to finish. Sad.
Don’t know what to make of this, put it on after looking for something by Paul Hanson who I really like. This opens with a lot os screachiness. 50-50 whether I bail on it and maybe give it a try later. Was looking for more of a morning flavour.
Same question we all have. Hope everything is OK with him and his family.
New on Qobuz. HR. BWV 846-869. After the disappointment with Beethoven I turned to Bach. This is comfort music with a vengeance for me. Played by an acknowledged master on an instrument whose tone is a little lower than usual this is proving most enjoyable. I think the acoustics of the recording venue unobtrusively add some life to the sound. For those who like Bach and harpsichord this album is a must.
It’s like looking from this side of the pond into the distance and seeing neon lights against a black backdrop… I can barely see the CDs at the top a tower block…
If you make it over here gi’s a shout
Deal !
