A nice article on the re-issues. I didn’t know Don Was a part if it. I knew he Produce Voodoo Lounge (one of the last of the great Stones Albums - Bridges to Babylon has many good moments too).
We missed the show here in Phoenix last year. After Jagger’s health scare and re-scheduling, it conflicted with our Son’s Army Boot Camp Graduation. He was PISSED ! An ex-Drummer (not great/not bad though), he wanted to see Charlie Watts in action. Oh Well !
A bought it too after I wrecked my Cassette. The LP pressings in Canada are pure Shyte Dirk. English Pressings were always sought after when I was growing up in Canada, but they weren’t cheap either. American Pressings you had to drive over the Border to get those and they could be a crapshoot as well. Unless it was Mobile Fidelity…
I would have to search for the LP and listen before I could comment on the sound quality. It’s many moons ago since I last played the album… From distant memory, I don’t think it was anything to write home about. They were all but washed up by that time - this was just prior to when they started playing all their big hits live, every other year, raking in a fortune .
The new deluxe boxset…not sure if previous masterings sounded that well balanced with firm deep bass…one of the rare well balanced sounding 80s recordings. Still great music.
