That was what musicians refer to as a “magical” session.
Qobuz. CD. These pieces are played on a ten string guitar; a novelty for me. The sound is good and the album is pleasant enough, but I would have expected Spanish dances to be a lot livelier!
Mike Bloomfield was truly the first virtuoso blues guitar player.
Really? I’m not that big a fan myself. I’d say that title would go to T-Bone Walker, doing amazing work in the 'forties. Just my opinion.
Forgot to cancel Qobuz and order a Bluesound Node 2i (AmazonHD Bit Perfect playback capable - in Black of course), so they got me for $15 on the 3rd of July. It’s cancelled now but I’m “stuck” with it for another month.
I always wondered why in the early days of DSD 20+ years ago, why Telarc released CD only versions (Sony’s SBM Layer) of DSD recording/masterings and never an SACD until a few years later.
If you are using BlueOS to control it then I found the integration with Amazon HD to be a bit patchy. This was my main reason for cancelling Amazon HD after the 3 month free offer had expired.
Thanks Chris. I’ll let you know for sure how my experience will be with it.
Another DSD CD Only release. Might as well get my money’s worth this month.
I am still having a ‘patchy’ problem with Qobuz. I will give them another month or two. I suspect Comcast/Xfinity service is my problem. Got tired of chasing Xfinity so I bought a Amplifi Alien router, marginal sound improvement, do like its color display (set up in another room so no annoying glare). I am going back to pestering Xfinity. Verizon VIOS has been suggested.
My current solution is CDs when I get frustrated with the streaming ‘patchiness’. Unfortunately, most of my flea market sources are closed.
Pssd-off is the better alternative to Pssd-on.

I was listening to this last night. Scary how when you close you eyes, it’s sounds like “the real deal” minus Gabriel, Banks, Collins, & Rutherford.
