New on Qobuz. HR. I haven’t listened to ‘Carnival of the Animals’ since I was a child. As an old man it was pleasant enough. Swert’s accompanying modern work was OK I guess, but they included a short piece from ‘Peter and the Wolf’, and the contrast did not favour the Bestiary. If I want to listen to more animal representations I shall gratefully return to Biber’s Sonata Representativa.
