Is this a good place to start with Snarky Puppy?

Yes. They are a new band to me by by suggestion here. Nice funky groove.

Besides excellent performance and recording, the monologue is so hilarious and cracks me up every time I listened to this;

The Bonnie Raitt song, “I’m in the Mood” is the jewel of this record. Her slide guitar and sexy voice just shine alongside the JLH moans.

Agree. Good call… I will have to pull out some Bonnie, too! Cheers.

Last one for the morning. I have another 1/2 cup of coffe in me. Must fix some broken stuff in the house, there’s always something broken, 2nd law is a bitch. Luckily there’s a nice long evening listening session ahead, even on this shortened Sunday for those of us in the states.

Chesky recordings are awesome

I cannot be a complete stranger to Schmelzer, because my browser indicates that I have referenced his Wikipedia page before, but I am darned if I remember anything. This album thus came as a very pleasant surprise. His style is very reminiscent of Biber, which is Very OK by me. Romanesca are also players I respect. I just wish that they had recorded more.

This is the only Cars album I have. I think I bought it in 1984 because it was cheap and I liked the MTV video for ‘You Might Think I’m Crazy’. The Vargas cover illustration had nothing to do with my decision. :slight_smile:

Thanks for this. They’re wonderful.
What is it about singing sisters? Lily & Madeline. First Aid Kit. The Staves. Anna and Kate McGarrigle.

This 1972 recording LP re-issue was mastered by Doug Sax; Hard not to like Esther Ofarim’s voices! She personally involved in the CD re-issue project with minimalism approach: No compression / direct to disc from original tape; I prefer the LP (more air / openness) but this re-issue CD sounds better than earlier CD releases;
