What Are You Spinning Right Now? (Mk. 2)

Just the greatest. Once again…thanks @lonson. The happiest music. Have to be a hard cynic to not find something to love in this music. Tonic for a difficult week in a rough world.

Glad you got it. Yes, there’s a passion for the music Jack had that seemed to sustain him through some rough stretches of life, and it’s too bad a terminal alcohol habit was also along for the ride, we lost him too soon.

He was a truly innovative musician (that water glass technique! those unique slide positions!) and a collaborative spirit. He had a singing style that really reaches me. I love his music. . . I wish he had lived into my adulthood and I could have met him.

Beautifully stated. Seems like he was a good person. Don’t think you can play and sound like him if he wasn’t. Hope I’m not wrong…I’m sure we’ve had this exact same conversation before. I share the passion you have for Jack Teagarden and his music.

The new unreleased tracks of this new hires remastering are a must! They are musically at least as good as the original album (rather jazzy blues than rock) and they even sound better.

For the original tracks I prefer the 2018 hires Album before this one and the MFSL of all the digital releases.

The cover photography alone is gorgeous. One of the best jazz pictures I know.

He has that old world bad ass look about him. A man comfortable in his own skin.

Yes he could have jumped out of an old gangster movie. If you don’t tell anyone…I made some large wall replicas of some Blue Note albums…will probably do the same with this one of Teegarden some time…

He’s my new Blues master…I have 2 2xHD remasterings so far and one Analogue Productions and this guy only needs to play for 5 seconds, just 3 or 4 bars and you immediately start toe tapping…he’s a genius…as Ted who made the rhythm come through his DAC.

I don’t think you are wrong. He was a kind and generous person. He was much freer from prejudice than many of his contemporaries. Unfortunately his itinerant celebratory job led him into directions that made him a not so great husband and father. . . . Though even his ex-wives and children loved him and spoke highly and happily of him. He came from a musical family, his parents both musicians and musical teachers, and he had his sister and two brothers playing with him on and off during his career (sister on piano, brothers on trumpet and drums). He loved steam cars and tinkering with them, he had a mechanical as well as a musical mind. I think he was a good man.

Great music and sublime recording from Shawn featuring Richard Thompson’s son Teddy.

A very special album from The Bunnymen. One of my favs.

The L & R channels are from the Stellar DAC/Preamp via volume bypassed true differential outputs that I added to my Sony DSD capable AVR. The Subwoofer channel is also XLR fed on both ends. The center and surrounds are from the built-in amps of the Sony STR-DN1080.

I have the MFSL and yes, it’s the best version.
