Beautiful choral music for a Sunday.
Been an in-law event weekend, haven’t listened too much but everything that I have listened to sounds great!
Have spun:
Duke Ellington “Piano in the Foreground”
Milles Davis “Collecter’s Items”
Stan Getz & Chet Baker “Stockholm Concert” Disc 3
Lou Donaldson “Midnight Sun”
Milt Jackson “Bag’s Opus”
Walt Dickerson “Lawrence of Arabia”
And now playing:
Woody Shaw “Live in Basel 1980” disc 1
@lonson convinced me to find this and several other Mosaics. BTW, picked up another Jack Teagarden Mosaic. Haven’t ripped or played it yet.
Renaissance music. Very enjoyable. Fine balance between the sacred and court pieces. I wish I had scholarship enough to be able to analyse them further…
King of California is a good one
No need to analyse them further. I like your short descriptions. They are very succinct.
Was planning to be out on the deck but it has been a cold weekend. Not conducive for minimal physical activity. Exploring the recordings of ‘Enrico Rava’ at present. Enjoying this album. Excellent recording from ECM as usual.
.

‘I do requests’… Yes, King Of California is an excellent CD, it’s more of an acoustic album…
The glare on the picture is due to bright sunlight shining through the opening in the adobe walls!
Sammy introduces the set by saying, “it’s 5:15 in the morning and Vegas is still swinging.” Oh how I would love to have been there. A time and place. The young me hated what this represented. The current me likes it…it’s confidence and masculine.
BTW: it just doesn’t work on the flip. This is loud and aggressive and doesn’t make it on the little dynamo…can’t suspend disbelief.
Hey Dirk…I thought walls were to keep things out…not let things in…
Not guilty… You should tell that to the person who ripped the window frame out of the walls
…going to let OZ take me out. A station that plays music right to my heart.
It’s a pleasure to read all the posts. I’ve read elsewhere that audiophiles love equipment and not music. What a bunch of Bullshit that is. I see nothing but music lovers here. See y’all.
