What Are You Spinning Right Now? (Mk. 2)

I’m a huge fan of Kevin’s work since the 90’s. Oklahoma is the only one of his albums I don’t own on vinyl or CD. Saw he and Taj Mahal on tour together in 2017.

I should be outside enjoying the weather but I can’t stop listening to Miles albums.

I return to this set often. Just love Danny Barker. Dinner and a cocktail guy for sure…most likely Fried Chicken and a Beer!

My dad was a huge help running some simple 18AWG wire to support 0-10V dimming for newly anticipated LED light fixtures. Practical experience often trumps theory. Sure did yesterday. I ran the fish tape with an expectation and quickly got the fish tape stuck. Couldn’t push or pull the tape. Turned out we had to go through 9 junctions boxes (mostly kitchen junction boxes jammed with wires) to follow the switch leg from switch to fixture. It was not easy. But my dad’s experience was critical. Now, I can’t wait for the new, high tech fixtures to arrive!

Thank You Mosaic! This is sounding really good this morning.

The soundstage is really developing on my system. I’m wondering what’s breaking in more, my KEFs, the SLP-05 Ultimate Upgrade, or my ears? It’s weird how the soundstage was kind of all over the place and is now really starting to focus. I doubt I’m at 100 hours yet.

Really nice sound on this live jazz set on the new Giant Step Arts jazz label, which is featured in the August 2019 Stereophile at pages 58 to 65.

Another new nicely recorded live album from Giant Step Arts.

40 minute shows on the hour might be touristy but they’re doing God’s work and are awesome musicians. I don’t go very often anymore, on my NOLA trips - 3 weeks till Satchmo Fest, but I can’t recommend the experience enough. This is a fine collection.
