Too early for cocktails but it sounds awsome. Picked this up at the counter of a Hallmark store years ago. So cheesy and fun. Never know where you’re gonna find something good.
Smoke on the Water and not the Deep Purple version. The entirety of this set, 1945-1970 is the greatest country music compilation ever. Want a 25 lesson in American post war culture?
recorded 1987
songs by Byrd, John Johnson, Richard Allison, etc.
Emily van Evera, soprano
just discovered this one…
This is the 4-disc “Complete Bitches Brew” released in ’98. I don’t always enjoy releases with “previously unreleased tracks”, “alternate takes”, etc., however, this one has a lot of great extra music. Listening now to the 20-minute version of David Crosby’s “Guinnevere”…fantastic!
Jangeun Bae Trio “The End and Everything After”
To Infinity and beyond!
Santana, “Lotus” (Complete Edition) on three JSACD’s. An over-the-top mid-1970’s live rock album deserves an over-the-top SACD release, and that is exactly what this is . . . sounds incredible.
Murdered on the steps of his home in Manhattan way too young. Honky Tonk is my kind of song.
picked this vinyl up today at the record shop…heavy pressing; great shape for an old LP, couldn’t pass it up and glad I didn’t
Just a rhythm machine. I heard Pickles on WWOZ streaming at work ($10 Logitech speakers and I’m still capable of goosebumps). A great, funky Allen Toussaint song I don’t own? I’ll fix that.
…still wish we could edit posts with links…there are four instrumentals in a row that are just mind blowing: Pickles, Louie, Either and Cast Your Fate to the Wind (don’t we all in so many ways). Just monumental talent and grace!
Edit: just the entire second side…oh man!!
The title says it all. Three track machine recording in a shack. I should post this in the best sounding recordings thread. Simple, good, and deeply white man funky!! Try fire and brimstone…
milt and Hawkins… wow…
Clearly funky…but…not white man funky
