Last night was our first trip to hear the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in a live performance: Mahler’s Symphony No. 2. Shall we just say “mind blowing”? They were exceptional. And Music Director Nathalie Stutzmann was everything I’d ever read about her, and more. Just an absolute joy to hear this overwhelming Mahler symphony played so beautifully well. The music was so well performed, we had tears in our eyes – we’ll go again. It was well worth the 4-hour drive and overnight stay.

Oh, I’d really like to see Nathalie live too - glad it lived up to the hype!
A wonderful experience!
I continue to be amazed at how many truly excellent orchestras we have in the States.
Rubenstein, I love his music and humor!
once a journalist, ask why he part a part of the music so fast and have a heavy rhythm on a piece of Brahms?
His answer: Because, i could!
loved that guy!
The other nice thing about him is that many of his recordings were made so well that they sound great today - but I may have to see if there is a book or doc on him to learn more about his character
good idea!
This one takes me back to my youth as my parents played it repeatedly.
Erich Leinsdorf & Los Angeles Philharmonic - Prokoviev - Excerpts from the Ballet Romeo And Juliet
As I have a new cartridge I though I might pull out some of my Sheffield Labs albums as their direct-to-disc goodness is spectacular. Not always the worlds best performances for such excellent pressings, but this one is quite good.
