A friend and I both have DS DACs and we were discussing the merits of our setups. I use a Bridge II and he uses a Bryston BDP-1. He didn’t realize my connection was an ethernet cable from my router; he thought a USB cable went from my computer to the Bridge. I explained how it works but I don’t know the purpose of the USB socket on the Bridge.
It’s for updating the firmware inside the Bridge.
Just curious, is it a different type of USB that plugs into that USB slot?

No. A normal Type A male connector should work.
