Whatcha Doin' This Summer - RSD 2021 Drops

Not sure, but I think lots of these records came out just as vinyl was starting to decline, and the originals are highly prized. Maybe it’s aging metalheads with disposable cash and a rekindled interest in turntables.

Just looked at this discogs listing for one of the Metallica albums from the lot. For sale starting at $175. I am pretty sure the ones I’m getting are original pressings (or at least from that era), and not recent reissues, given the stuff in this collection.

the one rub: these are all bands my youngest is into. He’d love to have these records.

So hopefully I can coax some work out of him to earn them.

I know, right? :joy:

I can’t recommend this one with alternate takes enough. Just the long, gorgeous version of „Almost cut my hair“ is worth the purchase and the song I mainly bought it for, but not the only good one. Fantastic sound from this Grundman mastering.

This one sounds better than expected. Digital mastering, no 3D enveloping sound certainly, but solid, dynamic sound performance, perfect tonality, no artificial or noticeably flat parts of the spectrum to complain about.
