Which HDMI cable are you getting for your new PerfectWave SACD Transport?

I don’t see AQ on the Parts Connexion web site. I’ll have to phone them.

On the search bar just type in AudioQuest HDMI. They sell just about everything, even Audio Magic Beeswax fuses. That’s where I got mine, and when you buy from them more than once, they usually give you discounts, and I like this one, no sales tax.

Still nothing. Maybe I’m at a different Parts Connexion?

I don’t have anything against AQ. I just feel they are so pedestrian and uncool. It’s like wearing a wax paper hat instead of a proper tinfoil one. Bah.

I must be getting too old and losing my mind, I hope not my hearing though. It’s not Parts Connexion, it’s Cable Company.https://www.thecableco.com/index.php
Sorry @james-k-m

The Music Room offers pretty good discounts on Audioquest, and a 60 day return policy.

I’m with you Al, AQ cables don’t interest me at all, With their advertising model just the current day version of Monster Cable.

I’m pretty happy with the Thunderbird 48 HDMI cable, but if the RAL beats the Dragon 48, I might return it and order the RAL.

Fed Ex dropped off the Dragon 48 HDMI this morning. Yes they do home deliveries on Sundays too in case you’re wondering.
I only have about 5 hours on the cable, so this is only preliminary review, but WOW, this cable is something else. Much higher resolution than the RAL, not close at all. You hear the bells with such texture and body with enormous air and decay, more so than the RAL. The presence and dimensionality is in another league. Much more inner detail with this cable. The bass is so powerful and defined. This cable does not need much break in, it already sound this good!! You really have to hear this cable to believe what it can do. I urge those who can, go out and borrow one to try and you will see what I am talking about. Sorry RAL, you’re no longer top dog. And I mush add, the construction and especially the connector is first rate, snap into place very firmly, not like RAL.

Looking up the cable I am surprised to see Best Buy carries it. Neat.

In that case, you don’t even need to wait fo it to be delivered, just pick it up at the store. And if you don’t like it, just return it to the store. Nice

Yes, very convenient.

Best Buy does give you 15-days to return it. Great way to take a test drive and retain the option of returning it.

Wait— the Dragon is roughly 4 times the price.
Is it that much better?

Once you hear this Dragon, you will not want to go back to the RAL, The Dragon just open up the sound so much more, you will no long be satisfy with the RAL, I guarantee it. If you don’t believe me, go to Best Buy and try one.

My question now is how much better is the Dragon48 from the Firebird48? It’s a thousand dollars more.

That I can’t answer, but should be close since the only difference is in the ground conductors being 100% perfect surface silver for the Dragon. It wouldn’t hurt to borrow both from Best Buy and see for yourself. Just return one or both if you don’t like it.

Wish I could. Best Buy here in Canada sells only a $100 AQ cable.

You have to find a Best Buy Magnolia, their hi end branch, the regular Best Buy does not carry it. You have to check, but The Cable Company I believe let you try cables as long as you buy something. You can ask them.

I just remember, PS Audio carry these cables also. Do anyone know what their policies are? I’ve been so hung up on The Cable Company since they give me nice discounts and have what I want and really treat me very good that I have forgotten about others.
