I’m planning a new PC build and currently looking into power components like power supplies, surge protectors, and cooling options. I want something reliable and efficient for long-term use. What brands or components have worked best for your setup, and are there any common issues I should avoid?

Is this for a NAS, music server (what software), or multi media server? If so, will it be physically and electronically isolated from your HiFi? What OS are you intending to run: Linux, Windows, MacOS, Roon Optimized Core Kit (ROCK)? What is the estimated CPU load (running just one service or a complex set of encoders/decoders etc?
All of these variables make a big difference in what recommendations you will get. It’s a fun and worthwhile project for sure.
