Which power supply are you guys using with your Matrix X-SPDIF 2? - 5v or 9v?

Thanks for the suggestion. It tests very well.

Farad Super3 is the best I’ve tried.

Well, after airing my frustrations about a lack of responses to my emails to Teddy Pardo, DHL sent me an email today stating that my power supply was picked up at 3PM in Israel. Maybe someone from the Teddy Pardo company watches this thread.

My Teddy Pardo LPS arrived today by DHL - ordered August 1st. Plugged in and warming up before serious listening with the Matrix -(7V)

I found this video on power supply noise to be quite relevant and informational. Warning, technical speak.

Interesting takeaways:

  1. Temperature impacts capacitance.
  2. Tantalum capacitors are rediculously expensive.
  3. Vibration matters.

Mine also arrived today; they must have been shipped at the same time. Ditto on having it plugged into the Matrix too. I have mine set to stream all night and I’ll give it my first listen tomorrow.

So is the Teddy Pardo as good as everybody say? Does it leave the Sbooster in the dust in performance? Inquiry minds want to know.

It’s some pretty nice dust with the Sbooster.

So you guys have had your Pardo power supplies for a little while now. What do y’all think?

You’ve had yours longer than we have, what do you think?

I love mine. It sounds better than any other LPS I tried…including those from SGC, UpTone, and Sbooster.

I noticed a definite improvement over not having my Matrix connected to any external power supply at all. This is the only LPS I’ve tried so I can’t compare it to any other brands. For me it was a worthwhile investment.

what is the connector diameter to order for Matrix? Thanks.

It’s 5.5/2.1mm.

These just arrived today. One for the Matrix and another for the Nucleus.

Having hooked them up and run through my sound test playlist, I can say the sound has noticeably improved. Soundstage is wider and deeper. Sounds are better placed. Bass is much more precise and smooth. Now to wait for it to burn in…

This hobby saddens my wallet and excites my ears.

Congrats. Farad are the best I’ve heard so far.

Is there a way to buy the Farad in the US and avoid the VAT tax?

When I buy in the UK the price is ex VAT. They don’t charge on an export.

There should be no tax on an export to the US.
