Live at Hemmerleinhalle, Neunkirchen am Brand, Germany, Feb. 25, 1978.
Not a Zappa album but rather the first solo album from Zappa band alumnus Andre Lewis (aka Mandré), who played keyboards during the 1975 tour memorialized on the forthcoming “Zappa '75” album. The Zappa.com notes regarding “Zappa '75” state that Lewis was “dismissed after the touring was over in early 1976.” (Does anyone know the reason for his alleged dismissal?) The “Mandré” solo album came out in 1977 and contains a wacky cover version of “Dirty Love.”
I too miss him, and The Yellow Shark is a Zappa masterpiece to these ears. I never tire of it.
Masterpiece is an accurate description. It also has a beautiful sq quality.
Having the ability to turn it up to 11 has also done it no harm whatsoever.
I’m in a Hal Russell mood, and Yellow Shark as a follow-up is just what the Dr. ordered.
