Why Closeout the P15

Just got an email on closing out the P15, whatever that means. Anybody know what’s going on? I have a P15 and love it.

I was wondering the same thing. I look forward to an official word from on high.

Great question!

Hard to imagine closing out the more obtainable mid price
slotted regenerator that stands between the P12 and the P20.

Seemingly this would leave a gap between P12 and P20.
Particularly since the P15 is the more “affordable” step up
from P12…

I’m sure Paul has something up his sleeve

Best wishes

Also love my P15. This model was launched in 2018, so maybe after 7 years it is time for a refresh, that would make sense.

I believe the P12 and P20 were launched around the same time. So, maybe more closeouts to come?

I got the same email also. Like the BHK preamp is now discontinued, it hope fully will be replaced with something better. But then again when I asked, they said they had nothing working to replace the BHK preamp.

Probably clearing out to make way for the new PMG PP.

Or dropping price of P20 and sticking to one model (above P12). PMG is a good bet though.

I started a thread, Will there be a P30?
Looks like a PMG version name perhaps?

A PMZone, I would say, considering the overwhelming positive feedback on the PZ!

What I like about these powerplants, like my P15. It’s not just ‘cleaner electricity’ that might make my system sound better, but it also provides me a number of convenience features:

  1. Functions as a Powerstrip; distributing power to my many devices
  2. Starts my whole system with one remote control click - very convenient
  3. Provides delayed start, preventing speaker pops
  4. Provides protection against lightning strikes, voltage spikes (happened more then once)
  5. Is an electricity meter, shows me my voltage and current

I sold my P15 a couple of months ago, and I replaced it with PZ. I would have to lower the price on P15 if I am selling now, and I will pay a higher price to get a PZ too. This turned out to be one of the few positive money trades I have made lately. I wish I bought D333 before the market tanked.
