My next upgrade is the Dragon 48 arriving Friday. It’s replaced my RAL. I’m hoping it was a wise decision I will let you know. To be continued on the Dragon thread……
Borrow a cable from the Cable Company lending library.
I was very, very familiar with the MBL gear before I bought my Gryphon and Vivid gear. I made a choice that I am very pleased with. I believe my system is equal to what I heard the other day minus the MBL 1621a transport. I may buy one and solve that.
Thanks Al…I was just curious…
In this section of one of my two longer show reports here, I commented on your speakers. They were in my top category.
Those floor diffusers would make good Rabbit guards dor Al’s system. Remind me of cattle guards for a pasture.
Indeed…I was not sure what the ones in front of the amps are for. If there was bottom reflection from the back wall, then they really tuned the room carefully.
They look like trip hazards if you have room traffic but might be great for a ceiling. Quite the novel looking room treatment. I am sure they filled their purpose well.
I am tempted by the WAM Chronosonic with Dag Relentless.
Maybe I should sell my house and go for it ?
You must have a really nice house
Happy Cake Day!
You would need a Relentless Preamp too. So possibly sell a car or two also. The WAM with Burnester did not sound as good as a Chronsonic XVX with M400 D’AG’s So don’t paint yourself sitting on a street corner homeless, yet you just might like the cheaper option.
I am going to start playing the lottery because I don’t want to compromise.
It has to be WAMM Master Chronosonic with all Relentless amplification. Plus the Thor subs, needless to say.
Nothing else will do. Only the best. I am so done with the mediocre mid fi stuff.
Thanks! This is the only online group that I visit on a regular basis. The rest are way to vile for me.
The only WAM I know of is George Michael’s fist group.
Wake me up before I go go
i’m not saying i’m obsessed but if I sold my Parasound HINT6 integrated (which is running a pair of Magnepan .7’s), that would fund the KLH’s and then my Audiolab 8000A (which sounds nice with the Maggies but is underpowered) could run the KLH’s really nicely. (Speculation, but still.)
And then I’d have a pair of Magnepan .7’s without anything to do.
Why do I do these things to myself?
Happy cake day Vern!
You could have worse problems, take my word for it!
Oh I hear ya there.
I am improving my system by fits and starts. It will keep sounding better, bit by bit… But I think until I build a listening mausoleum, and pour a crap ton of cash at the whole thing, and add rabbits, I won’t really achieve audiophile nirvana.
And that’s ok.
This is pretty good as it is.
Bunnies are sweet and fun to have around though.
Audio can’t compete.
