Amen to lead times for high value gear from boutique manufacturers. At one time I was seriously looking at the ZTPRE triode line stage which boasts a lot of attractive features (especially with the options) at a very nice price indeed. But then I looked at the Decware orders database and decided I just didn’t want to deal with the lead time. Crazy. Ditto another manufacturer I’m a two-time client of, SalkSound. Jim’s lead times aren’t as patience challenging as Decware’s, but when you place your deposit you may as well just forget about your order for a minimum of 6 months. Pushes my limit.
It is rather unique to say the least. The entry level amps such as the one I have now is nothing special to look at. It looks best late night with the lights down. The SE840UFO 25 special edition is an acquired taste, I’m fine with it some may like it more some less. Clearly the amp lay-out is such to minimize signal path length. I was a bit surprised how well it partnered with my speakers.
Yes, I planned on forgetting about it for the most part. They have had more order since April of this year so effectively I am at 8 months and expect it in late April of 2022. If it pushes beyond that I may pick-up a Pass XA25. He is expanding his line, (Bully for Him), while still implementing production improvements. Apparently an additional facility and hiring assemblers. The later is going to be tricky as it requires a very specialized skill set.
The Iso Cat7 “Christmas Edition” comes with a short ethernet cable. It just came out so I do not think there is any review yet, but I may order one to give a try.
I like a simple filter rather than a switch plus another power supply. I use an Acoustic Revive Lan filter now, and it does improve the sound a bit. I hope the Iso Cat 7 will do a better job.
I wear earplugs and sunglasses on the rare occasions I am dragged to the cinema - it greatly enhances the experience (and allows a sneaky nap or two during the film without people noticing)
My SGCD is being returned from the mothership tomorrow (If FedEX is to be believed) and while not an upgrade per say it will sure feel like one as it’s replacement was pretty awful. Looking forward to it more even than when I first bought it because now I know how it sounds here.
You also just described a good bit of the First Watt line as well. Yet they still sound fantastic.
Perhaps this is more of a personal observation of myself.
P20 was delivered five minutes ago.

My Stealth Audio Cables Sakra V17 Limited Edition XLR cables have arrived.
The Sakra V12 has been removed and now the V17 connects me Pandora Preamp to my Antileon Evo amplifier.
I cannot believe the difference this one change has made.
My jaw is permanently fixed to the floor.
Dang.
That was what you said last time (oh, without permanently I think) when you acquired the Sakra V12
Enjoy! We can only take your words for it. I do have a lowly V10 PC. it sounds nice but quite “different” than other PC I owned, but I can imagine the higher end will sound a lot better.
I ordered the new Sotm “Christmas Edition” Iso-Cat7 filter. It is another impulsive decision from reading this forum, and I regret it already since I already have a Lan filter. At least it comes with a short ethernet cable, so I don’t have to shop for one.
It will be interesting to see how much better it is comparing to Acoustic Revive filter.
How much did you say this Sakra V17 cost? Maybe I can get one too and we will start a new cable craze. This Dragon thing is getting a little long in the tooth.
It was a bargain at what it cost. I want another one for between the DAC and the Preamp.
It was a bargain but not a Dragon priced bargain!
Actually it was a Dragon priced bargain. For the new Dragon Interconnects that is.
Before the generous discount! Lol
Wouldn’t that be fun, to have a shootout between the Stealth and Dragon and see which is the better bargain? Lol.
I’m constantly amazed at these reports of vast and jaw-dropping improvements with cables. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not doubting them at all; it’s just that I’m envious that a system as good as yours can get monumentally better.
Or maybe I’m envious of your ears. I have a nice enough system, but I don’t know that I could appreciate/discern similar changes.
Although, truth be told, I don’t know that I have the aural memory or patience to properly compare!
No regrets. You’ll enjoy it!
