You might really enjoy the MBL N11, N31, and N15. (Preamp, DAC, Amps). Everyone who listens to the N31 buys it. List price for all $65k and you should not have a difficult time lowering that price.
If you want to spend more, I like Gryphon.
Good point. I measured it out and I’ll be sitting on the inner half of one of the sides, so not on the crack!
What did I come home with?
Sadly nothing.
More later…
You know a different Addision than I.
A 5 unit modulation of these 7Audio customized fractal QRD diffusers for my rear wall. Somewhere in transit from Poland!
Holy craploy. There is no way to limit anything at the top of the heap.
Monies/Time spent on the other half of the speakers, (the room) is always a wise investment
Coda Technologies’ Continuum No. 16.0 amplifier is just what the doctor ordered…
follow up from my previous comment, just Purchased the P15 earlier this week, next upgrade, power cable for it.
Please tell us about the MBL listening experience? Always interested in hearing about the top of the heap offerings in speakers.
Congratulations!
Well after enough post surgery time and pain meds I managed some hand claps both next to the piano and next to my right channel speaker as @Elk suggested. Sadly to say i can detect excitation of the strings to my ears easily at both distances. At similar sound levels even with the extra 20 feet of distance. It is amazing how well a 71/2 foot sound board on a Grand can be excited from such a simple test. I did not try listening position hand clap yet. I do think it is loud enough to hear at over 32 feet that I will run the DSP again after the piano tuner does his thing Tuesday.
Then I will try listening both with and without the towel on the soundboard for dampening after having run DSP.
I suggest putting the towel on top of the upper strings which do not have dampers. They are the strings excited by the sound energy in the room.
I suggest talking to your technician about the issue. S/he may have ideas to suggest.

Yes i f i were to describe excitation it seems to be affecting all the octaves a similar amount comes across as a bee hive far in the distance. Not powerful but not unlike an orchestra doing there pre concert warm up tuning. Just a mass of sound across the spectrum. Hopefully since it is so uniform it is nothing to sweat. And the add in of sound just adds to the live performance feel. Lol. I will discuss with the tuner who I was told by the mover is an accomplished pianist. He said I am in for a big treat to be able to hear what the piano is actually capable of putting out.
I am surprised the lower octaves are getting excited.
I look forward to learning what the tech says/recommends.
soooo, I’m seriously contemplating the Harbeths.
I have a listening room in my basement. Kind of a dungeon, out of the way. Nice place to decompress. I have a Rogue Audio Sphinx V3 integrated, playing into my Magnepan .7’s. (various sources)… It sounds good. But for fun I brought my Harbeth P3ESR’s down there, and they are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, obviously. I don’t know if I like it because it’s different or better, but I like it. They fit the small room better than the Maggies, obviously. I think the magnepans need more space, both visually and for soundstage/presence, etc…
I moved the maggies up to my living room where the harbeths were, and those sound good, too. I think the P3ESR’s might be a bit small for the room sound-wise, and the maggies fill out the space nicely. Amplification is a Parasound HINT6 integrated.
But I absolutely do not like the magnepans in the living space. Some living spaces they look great; mine, not so much. (I could put gray socks on them to match the rug, which might soften the look. Easy enough to do.) But I’m obsessing about getting a pair of Harbeth 30.2 40th Anniversary that would look AND sound awesome there. Plus I could build some stands for them, because I need a new project!
Thing is, I have no other place for the magnepans in the house. Might keep em, might sell em. Ahdunno.
Don’t really need advice, just commiseration.

Silver Eucalyptus 30.2’s. I think these are just stunning.
No MBL speakers were connected during my visit oddly enough. All other gear was MBL except speakers. It was a weird day.
My Pandora preamp had the Legato phono preamp boards added and a new power supply was acquired just for icing. I asked them to please please please test the Pandora BEFORE I left Minnesota. They did not.
After listening to the MBL Giya Spirit combination we swapped out the MBL preamp for my Pandora. It sounded amazing, way better than the MBL. Then it made three angry bursts of noise and died.
Long story short the brand new power supply failed fully. No other power supply was available. I came home empty handed.
Tonight I hooked up the Antileon and I am borrowing an MBL N31 DAC to see how it is.
Update: Well well well. This amp is really something! Stone cold not so much. An hour in and I shut down the subwoofers as the Amp drives the Wilsons so well they are no longer needed. I currently have the amp set to low and I can drive my speakers louder than I need in that range. The massive capacitor banks in this amp handle everything I can throw at it. It is currently plugged into the same shared 15 amp circuit my P20 is plugged into. No tripped breakers. I can’t wait to move it all to the 20 amp dedicated lines.
This amp has so much soul! Nummy! I am currently using the power cords that came with it. Better cords tomorrow.
One down side. Even without the subs I woke and angered the Mrs… oops. In the new setup the speakers point the opposite direction. I hope that helps.
Still using the RP10, it seems? It is so nice to know that the amp is driving the speakers so well, you no longer feel the need for subs.
Oh my. I’m sorry for the disappointment. They really dropped the ball on that one. Hopefully the blown PS didn’t hurt anything else and they’re sending it all back for a full recertification.
If a Gryphon rep hasn’t already been in touch, I’d ask why. CH gave me a direct line to their US rep. I called him on a Sunday to ask a question and he returned my call in 10 minutes.
Thanks for sharing those thoughts Vee. The Gryphon rep sent me a package with personally made compilation cds of extremely well recorded tracks. I will give him a shout.
Serhan, still using the RP10 as the TechDAS has not arrived yet. As far as I know it is still in Japan.
I pulled the stock power cables out and put in a pair of Stealth Dream V18 power cables. Now my jaw is stuck to the floor. I have had a box of cables sitting here for weeks. I opened it up and the number of cables and the quality and cost for them exceeds my former system price. Just cables. Damn. I want the rest of the gear!!!
