Surely you wouldn’t now …would you?

I picked up 2 new rabbits yesterday.
Now I have six.

My wife is so pissed she didn’t even notice the new cables on the front porch.

Nice distraction! You’d better adopt a couple dozen bunnies in July when the Apex and Commander arrive.

I can raise your stupid move and offer another. After years of fussing with analogue, I got rid of my Linn Sondek/Itok/Koetsu combo along with hundreds of primo albums. I am enjoying my CDs, and their convenience, but wonder whether I chose the wrong camp. Nah, can’t fight that one now, at my age. Besides, I get your amazement how much is is still to be heard from that little ol’ disc.

Wow! That’s a really big decision. There must have been some serious internal debate to come to this conclusion.

Do you mind sharing some thoughts on how you chose digital?

BTW - I have been leaning in this direction.

Happy Cakeday!

I wonder what I can get if I bring home an Au Pair? Our daughter is grown and has her own place.

I’ve been listening to my LP’s again and I have to get use to cleaning my LP’s now and then, and getting up to change the records very often, but I’m more than happy to do it and am actually enjoying doing it because the sound has so much more emotional impact on me than my SACD’s or files. I say WOW much more often with LP’s, especially 45rpm’s than any digital. I definitely would give up my digital way before I would give up my LP’s.

The biggest temptation for me will be a pair of PSA active speakers. I’ve only heard @Paul remark about their possibility a few times so they are a ways out but I’ve become a believer in the last few years.

This is how I feel about vinyl. It’s unquantifiable for me, vinyl is undoubtedly a flawed format, the maintenance is heavy, the physical work also, yet it just brings me such a overall wonderful experience that I can’t justify in logic, it’s purely emotive. I feel so much more connected with the music and the packaging also.

Congrats Matt! Great find!!

You can get them in US for 17K. I figure it is my ATMOS upgrade path finally. I run the MX150. They are superb for two channel if you can live with 7.1. You just have to split off 4K to your TV Maybe in a few years when there are more ATMOS streaming options and some other codec I will finally pick up the MX180 used like I did the still very fine MX150 for pennies on the MSRP.

You can’t beat the RoomPerfect integration combined with McIntosh ability to address speaker time/distance alignment and use XXL speakers like distributed subs for LFE. The set up has you measure distance to each speaker and listening position. Time consuming setup but wow for integrated sound in NEO6 mode. The ability to turn two channel into six and sound enveloping is fun while addressing any bass nulls. Meanwhile the front two channels remain priority to your ears

The decision to go all digital was not an exotic one. The turntable and albums stayed in a closet after a move and never got re-incorporated in the system.

I once thought seriously about selling my CDs. That thought, luckily didn’t last long.
Last night we had a dinner party. CDs while we cooked and all evening while we entertained.
Digital can be very freeing.

Cheaper by the dozen…
Gotta save those bunnies.

Active speakers are NOT on the horizon, AFAIK.

For example, @jamesh just posted this recently in another thread:

“Active are going to be a no, but some active subs are definitely on the horizon.”

FYI.

Indeed this is accurate. I’d love to go that route and someday we will. The timing’s just not right in the market.
