Your Next Upgrade? (Part 1)

From the page you linked to:

“They are precision manufactured from billet machined aircraft aluminum and proprietary HRS polymers. A very specific amount of mass, stiffness and damping from these products eliminates chassis resonance problems and transforms residual chassis energy to heat.”

I like to think my cheapo door stops polymer/rubbery bottoms also helps to dampen “residual chassis energy”; because who wants “chassis energy” ruining their tunes? Not me…!

704 pages of vibration sucking pleasure. And it also can be a doorstop in a pinch.

So far only one or two songs. Roon also did an update but it seems to have a little less life to the sound. It’s possibly over dampened? Need more time to evaluate.

I agree. Not taking anything from the HRS. The large plate is $395 each. There products are very impressive. I got to see the racks in person and the craftsmanship is second to none! I’m sure its not cheap either but it can be built in steps. The component stands double as shelves. Beautiful products backed by science.

I love the design and aesthetic of the HRS stuff.

I will probably add some of their bases and/or stands to my system some day.

UPDATE on the door stop vibration control. I’m thinking it added to much weight be cause the sound was definitely restrained. I had a similar experience with the Herbie’s RX-9 and had to loosen the rings on the tubes. I tried both door stops (= 8.4lbs) and I did not like the sound. Then I tried with one (4.2 lbs) and I was not satisfied. Went back to just the Isoacoustic Orea’s and VPI magic brick it sounded better to my ears. Door stops going back to Amazon.

@paul172
You might as well write a review that says These did not work as advertised

Sounds like this doorstop worked by reducing overall slam factor and held things back too much. There must be a better Amazon return choice. Lol

Those are missing the rubber anti-slip bottom. Furthermore it’s not magic like the VPI. :+1:t2:

Ok then use this cut to fit under the bricks…

You still get the magic without that awesome amazing
“Magic Price”

and you can finish them to zoot yourself…

My book idea didn’t do anything for the sound. But more importantly, it was rejected, with prejudice, by my “Senior Director Of Design, Decorating, Common Sense”, with a comment: “wtf is wrong with you?”

The May Dac should be awesome, I have Tim’s LCR MKV phono stage at home for evaluation, its very good,
I also have a 1200GAE (will be selling it) and a 1210GAE I am going to mount my Thales Simplicity II tonearm on it once I get a tonearm board made, I will also change out the power supply to a linear one at that time
I just bought the Ortofon LVB 250 phono cartridge to try
I would buy this tonearm if I was looking the Audiomods Siries 6
