Airedales don’t dig, they like to kill things like rats, racoons, possum, and nutria.

Fantastic animal. There’s one down the street. She’s beautiful. Needs 30 minutes of chuck-it a day rain or shine.

I have no animus for breeders and those getting dogs from a breeder. I’d do that also if I couldn’t find that perfect dog at my local shelter, and we’re perhaps lucky to have great local shelters/rescues. I do take some exception though with your comment that you get what you pay for with pets (wholeheartedly agree with audio). All 4 dogs we’ve owned in my adult life have been shelter mixed breeds and 1 pure bred golden puppy we lucked out on finding at a shelter. All fantastic loving pets we consider as our family!

In any case, I’m happy for anyone finding the right pet for them no matter where they found them or what they cost, as it’s the loving relationship with your pet that matters, and congrats @Vmax on the fantastic new addition to your family!

…full disclosure… Just recently quit my job I had at the Boulder Humane Society where I worked 28 years, just around the corner from PS Audio!

On the hunt for cables!

My daughter did the shelter rescue with her husband. A pit bull he couldn’t live without $6K in training later. He is still a pitbull ready to kill any dog he spots. Not to mention chewing through their apartment door.

Not sure every dog deserves a rescue but they keep throwing money at it expecting a different outcome. But for those who have more luck it is a win win. Spending time with a dog it is easy to develop a bond. Shelter rescues for me is not my cup of tea. It is a noble cause.

Yep, I wouldn’t use the words “don’t deserve a rescue”, but unfortunately there are pets we would get in that are just not safe in the community even though we work hard with behavioral training and those few do have to be humanely euthanized in the end. It’s an incredibly difficult job staff do that have to make those life and death decisions, but also so rewarding to see the great relationships develop that we see 90% of the time. (10%, about, are returned for a no questions asked adoption refund, but nearly all of those are adopted to a new family that normally turn out to be a better fit.)

Money dynamics?

So that is why you like the thick cables, the outer jacket is sacrificial. Thick enough to remove the bunny before it’s teath get to the juice.

Just musing on how hearing changes you like always leads to, well…:money_with_wings::money_with_wings::money_with_wings:

Tell me about it :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s time to try a new turntable, so I just bought a Avid Acutus Classic with a Acoustic Signature TA-5000 tonearm to see if it’s any better than my outdated Well Tempered Reference turntable and arm. I recently bought the Soundsmith Hyperion MKII, so I will be using that cartridge with the Avid.

Wow. That’s stunning @waymanchen11! Congrats!

Last thing on dogs: Training and TONS of bonding are 100% necessary, unless you’re a total dog pro. There are just so many dipsh!ts that get dogs, and don’t think they need to do anything and can’t understand why the dog wrecks the home. Dogs should want to nap the rest of the day because they have been properly exercised, and have been given plenty of attention and care. Dogs that are annoying or get in tons of trouble, are most often BORED TO DEATH. This is especially true for the “working breeds” like I have.

That is a beautiful table, and the platform it’s on looks pretty wonderful as well!

Thank you Spyder Tracks and Vince, I was deciding on a TW Raven AC with a Raven 10,5 tonearm and the Avid with the Acoustic Signature tonearm, but the Avid to me looks nicer, so Avid it is. I will report how the Avid performs once it is delivered.
Here is a picture from the other listing of the Raven.

Not quite Luca, but I’m willing to bet this Avid will run all over the MSB in SQ performance.

I agree, the Avid looks better to me. I am guessing they both sound great. The Raven looks a bit like a VPI.

That was my other choice. The VPI Avenger looks like and performs like an incredible turntable as well.

I just received my third rel s/510 from fedex today. Good seller and I paid a very fair price. Box is beat up but the sub looks perfect. I’ll connect it temporarily tomorrow to make sure it works (I’m sure it does). Now, to find a fourth…bet it will be sooner rather than later.
