Your Next Upgrade? (Part 1)

I am continuing to use my PS Audio AC-12 HDMI. I’ve been using it between transport and DAC sincd I bought the PWT and PWD and continued with the DMP and DSD; I’ve been trying other cables, all of which are great, but (perhaps due to longtime familiarity) there is something about the AC-12 that I keep coming back to and keeping in when I do.

Reminds me of the joke: What do you call a giant Irish cat? Magnum O’Pus.

Shouldn’t make fun of a $72,000 bit of wire.

On some pages i not indicated the length for the item listed, or I’m getting blind. How long is yours ? Thanx

The one I have/had is 1 meter.

Cables are system dependent. Putting in a different cable and changing the sound might not aways be better, if you already love the sound as it is already. I’m happy for you that you already have the cable that works for you. My assumption that you found another better cable is unfounded. Was just curious. Thanks for your reply.

Right before I started this latest round of upgrades I was so very happy with my system that I couldn’t imagine wanting or changing a single thing. I ended up changing absolutely everything except my P20. My current system sounds wonderful and it has some very interesting looking pieces. It was so expensive though. So, was it worth it? Was it worth all that money to go from where I was to where I am now?

Of course not.

Will I stop buying new gear?

Of course not.

Have a learned anything? Oh yes, many wonderful things.

My next upgrade will most likely be a Grimm MU1 to replace my I have already had it for almost three months Pink Faun. How can anybody stay with one piece of gear that long without going crazy?

Edit: I have no idea why this turned into a response to Veneet.

Oh wait, it has an internal power supply. @aangen are you sure about this? Seems a bit pedestrian.

Because Veneet–good.

You have to admit that the funniest question so far asked on this entire forum is: “how long is yours”?

Burson Conductor 3X Reference. Got it today.

Not necessarily an upgrade. Just another headphone amp (#6) for the collection.

My dealer strongly recommended Grimm MU1. However, I held my purchase on the grounds of known bugs that Grimm honestly explains on their website. I respect them for that, but put things on hold for the time being.

Mit Kanonen auf Spatzen schießen.

Pink Faun 3 phase + neutral power cables for a star connected heavy duty induction motor. - But … why are the connectors so small?

Now serious:
You will need external support to avoid pressure or tension on the vulnerable solder contacts between PCB (mostly surface mount not even thru hole) and HDMI input connector. You can buy a 750.000 HDMI cable, but if those solder pads are torn off the PCB or solder turns brittle due to too much force your sound will be worse than playing a CD on a 59 $ plastic pizza box BluRay disc player with its factory supplied 50 ct HDMI cable from WallMart.

Will keep that in mind…thanks…
