The $9 Apple dongle measures impressively well. Sounds pretty good too but I realize it’s not expensive enough.

I’ve tried quite a few phone/dongle/dac solutions. If you are traveling, especially flying with plane transfers, and all the joys that come with multi-modal transportation, the adapters and subsequent wires for me were too much of a hassle. I’m also not comfortable having a USB dongle plugged in while my phone is in a suit/blazer/jacket pocket or in my pants pocket. I worry that I am stressing the connection. I’ve switched to wireless buds for travel. The only downside is keeping track of the little buggers.

For home use I use a proper headphone amp and a small selection of over the ear headphones. I use these mostly at night since my Wife goes to bed earlier than I do.

Still dialing them in. Happy with the expenditure. Feeling fortunate. The rooms total dimensions are 35x30x8 ft.

Egad. I’m beyond green with envy. I checked the weight of those bad boys on the REL product page. How the heck did you manage to lift those monsters to stack them? My back hurts just looking at those pics.

Sweet system and view.
It would drive me nuts until the six-pack was complete.

You are dating yourself. My guess is hardly anybody under the age of 50 knows the original Minnesota Fats.

Definitely a two person job. Ironically the instructions warn you not to use the handles to lift. The weight is definitely front heavy.

That is just stunning!!!

I saw him play once when I was a young teenager in NYC. My Dad, his brothers and friends all used to play at a pool hall not too far from our apartment. I think it was the only time kids and possibly woman were allowed into the pool hall. Other than being allowed in, the only two things I remember is thinking that the balls must have had magnets in them. He continuously made impossible shots that blew everyone away. The other thing was that he was funny. He was constantly cracking jokes.

Here’s an analogy that continues to carbon date us: He was sort of like Jackie Gleason with a pool cue.

I’m under 60 and I know who Minnesota Fats was, although sometimes I feel like I might be getting to the age where I start forgetting I know who Minnesota Fats was…

As perhaps Jackie Gleason playing Minnesota Fats in The Hustler with Paul Newman.

I must admit that I haven’t seen that movie, but that cracks me up. I made that analogy innocently!

Is your handle 67Checker as in the Marathon? My Mother told me that I was almost born in a Checker.

Jackie was EXACTLY like “Fats”
