I just spoke to an editor who does hi-fi testing. He hadn’t tested the Grimm yet. But he knows my Cambridge Edge NQ, the Moon 791 and the Marantz Link 10n. He said that the Marantz doesn’t make too much difference to the Moon. In contrast to my Cambridge Edge NQ, the sound would open up much more towards the top and it would be worth it. He is very impressed with the Marantz Link 10n and recommends it to me. The price would be less than the Moon and he is very impressed with the workmanship and the overall result presented.
Oh interesting - heard the same from a few reviewers who already had a chance to test the new Link 10n. Very positive for the industry when a vendor is taking a “best in class” approach and paying attention to every little detail but that’s exactly what makes the difference in High-End.
If you can get a good deal in addition that this is a no-brainer to me.
I concur with Luca. Stealth Dream 20-20 on amps and power conditioner. Dream Grande Cu on DA/Preamp and or Music Server/Streamer.
The Dream Uni Cloud can also work similar to the Cu locations.
Yes. I was talked into getting one mostly because of that, and because I already like what my R528SE was doing in my system. Figured get the latest and greatest (that would fit in my space) before the next price hop. I just wish they made them in gloss white. But whaddya gonna do?
2nd system sounds ok.
Still experimenting with placement of panels, but sound quality is reasonable. The blue cushion on the floor saved my knees while connecting everything.
