AI and PS Audio

@Elk I think this runs on Discourse and the admin can choose from almost any third party AI for the generative components.

I am sorry, I do not understand the purpose of your post.

Thanks. First off, realize that this is a public forum so regardless of your thoughts on the matter any public forum is exactly that and can be used in any way shape or form. It’s like standing in the middle of the park talking about this or that.

That said, as Elk correctly pointed out, we still do not use any of this to train the AI. Maybe there’s another AI in play, who knows. As pointed out, our jelper AI is not on these forum pages, but on the regular PS Audio website (this forum is not hosted on PS Audio’s website, it is a separate service we pay for and it is linked to the website).

@Elk @Paul I wasn’t clear and got ahead of myself.

I was just trying to determine which AI provider Discourse (the platform on which the PSA Forum runs) uses; tremendous options (see list above) are available. Then, are those third party AI companies learning on our data.

It’s actually uninteresting but my point stands that we should scrutinize companies with powerful capabilities to learn on almost any web content.

Discourse has a forum. The topic of AI choice has likely been discussed. It may be worth your time browsing through it.

I suspect there are many more options than those you listed. It is an exceedingly competitive marketplace.

Your point does indeed stand - if one happens to agree with you.

Like Elk said… I just noticed it as well and, you you’re well aware, Discourse ios a third party forum app we pay for each month. I am working on replacing it over time so it can be actually integrated into the real PS Audio website and clean some of this up. AI has been added without anyone asking it just appeared. Oh well, maybe it’s useful?

Maybe AI should be a separate thread from this PMG one?

I am curious about AI-generated music. I have not found it yet, but I imagine it already exists. AI is so good at generating pictures, video and text already, it must be good at music. A prompt could be like ‘Generate me a country-music-style song, with xx beats per minute, inspired by artist xyz”.

Addendum: Actually found several services already that do this.

By the way the basic AI in the discourse platform and on websites like PS Audio’s, is nothing I am worried about, because it is basically glorified search. While a search engine scans the content, builds an index, and responds to user queries with a link to the original content, the AI search starts with the same then goes one step further and actually uses the content to generate an answer (or a thread summary). Google search doing the same now.

I thought this thread was AL and PS Audo not ai! :man_facepalming:t2::rofl:

WOW…Does Al really need his own thread?:grin:

Need? Probably not. Deserve? Yes.

Members.were fussing that it was taking attention away from a product thread.

I always hesitate to do the work to move off posts to their own thread as the off-topic thread typically dies at that point in any event.

Did not know anything about that. Just found out from a member.

It might be nice for us OCD types if AI would fix speling and gramer without no help from the poster guy.
